Jack Michael Hollingshead, age 16, passed away on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 in Marion, IA. He was born May 27th, 2008 at St. Lukes hospital into the loving arms of Tausha and Josh Hollingshead. He was kind, compassionate, loving, humble, and would move the world to make you feel loved. He was a Junior at Linn Mar High School where he wrestled (9/10), played football (9/10), and was an officer with the Future Business Leaders of America (9/10/11). He was a friend to all that needed him. He was passionate about the outdoors - cycling, hiking, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping and welcomed any trip where he could spend time enjoying nature and his family and friends. He also enjoyed gaming with his brother and friends, riding Ragbrai with his mom, movie marathons with his brother, ping pong, skiing in Utah, music, record collecting, vintage clothing and hanging with his friends and girlfriend. Anyone who knew Jack was aware of his fondness for hats, we all can see him in his favorite Yamaha hat. His many hobbies, interests, passions and impacts cannot be summarized here.
Jack is survived by his parents Tausha and Josh Hollingshead and his younger brother, Porter Hollingshead.
He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Tom Adolph and Salam Daoud and Laura Gale, his paternal grandparents Lori Hollingshead and Laura Taylor, John and Kathy Hollingshead, and his paternal great grandfather James Anderton. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and family/friends.
He is preceded in death by his aunt, Meagan Hollingshead, and many great-grandparents.
Jack’s future plans were to either pursue a career in business with an education at the University of Iowa or a career in conservation.
A Visitation for Jack will be held from 3-7 PM, Monday, December 16, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Antioch Christian Church, 433 Cross Road in Marion.
